  • Overview

    Responsible for day-to-day cleanup and correction activities within system-wide EPIC EHR.


    • Interface errors – investigating and validating correct patient demographics and updating interface message as necessary with the correct patient information to resolve the error.
    • Investigating, determining if duplicate medical record numbers/charts are in fact the same patient and appropriate to merge by looking at identification documents such as Driver License, HIPAA contact forms, Insurance cards, etc… and merge if a match otherwise mark records KND (Known Non Duplicate) within electronic medical record. 


    • High School Diploma or GED Required
    • Associates Degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, Informatics, Clinical or Business with applicable/supplemental healthcare experience (Preferred)
    • Successful completion of a medical terminology course required 
    • Acute care hospital experience (required)
    • Hands on operational experience working with data corrections and aggregate data (preferred)
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
    • Demonstrated computer aptitude on healthcare-related applications/patient identification systems
    • Proficient computer and technical skills necessary in order to perform the tasks required, including advanced knowledge of information systems, databases, and spreadsheet applications
    • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Word and Excel skills
    • Basic Microsoft Access Skills
    • Must have good verbal, written and good computer communication skills.
    • The ability to be detailed oriented and perform task at a high rate of accuracy. 
    • Ability to form meaningful conclusions and present complex data in an understandable format
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of information management within a hospital organization and laws applicable to healthcare data management
