  • Overview

    Initially this position will start off as a part time opportunity of about 10-15 hours per week until credentialing is approved.  These hours can be worked in the evening or on weekends depending on availability.  However, the goal is to have this person transition onto 37.5 hours per week (upon completion of credentialing) with the potential for being hired directly by the client.

     

    Incumbant serves as a subject-matter expert to Social Security Representative Payee review. Incumbant conducts reviews on-site in the field as assigned and directed by the Coordinator or other supervisory staff. Incumbant also conducts monitoring visits and assists with advocacy, investigations and projects as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as a Review team member and may serve as back up in other area(s) as assigned.
    • Conducts all aspects of field reviews of pre-determined Social Security Representative Payee assignments including but not limited to site visits and observations, multiple interviews (including beneficiaries), and extensive reviews of hard copy and/or electronic files.
    • Responsible for all aspects of scheduling interviews for the purpose of conducting site visits. Statutory deadlines must be met as directed.
    • Accesses a SS Representative Payee intranet system to input review data.
    • Performs advocacy as assigned.
    • Assists with projects and/or presentations as assigned.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to write and speak clearly.

       

    • Prior experience working with and/or interviewing people with various disabilities is preferred.

       

    • Must be able to manage and organize physical documents.

       

    • Must be able to input data accurately utilizing computer data systems.

       

    • Must have computer skills adequate to operate online data systems; system-specific training to be provided.

       

    • Prior investigatory, financial, or auditing experience is preferred.

    • Must be able to pass Social Security Administration identification credentialing and Federal background check(s).
    • Incumbant must be able to manage a heavy workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Incumbant must have availability to travel approximately 50 to 65% of a Monday through Friday work week; travel expenses are covered and/or reimbursed 
    • Strict confidentiality must be maintained.
    • Incumbent works closely with Social Security clients and/or their representatives as well as other agency reviewers, advocates, attorneys and support staff. 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
