  • Overview

    Looking to fill a role within their Operations department for quality checks.
    Initially, the position will focus completely on less complex processes such as final retirement recalculation reviews and/or death and termination audits. As the need arises and comfort level is achieved with system and procedures, training will expand to include active service audits and initial retirement audits. Other assignments, within the niche of RQA, may also be needed on special projects related to the current modernization efforts of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • This candidate will be responsible for processing a benefits review in an Excel spreadsheet (template) for the retirement services division. This will be a review of retirement accounts, post-retirement calculations, service credits, and adjustments made. A familiarity with Excel is ideal, but a Senior Analyst will train this individual onsite once working. The Excel template has been made by the Client Manager and is fairly easy to navigate.    
    • The Operations Quality Assurance Department monitors the processes, procedures, and controls of the retirement plans ensuring performance and quality of work conform to the retirement statutes of the Indiana Code. Quality control analysis is performed on, but is not limited to, the audits of initial retirements, final retirements/recalculations, death and termination processes, and active service reviews.
    • The position monitors the daily processes, procedures, and controls of the retirement plans ensuring performance and quality of work conform to the retirement statutes of the Indiana Code. Quality analysis is performed on, but is not limited to, retirements, death and termination process, and active member service.
    • The main focus is quality analysis of retirement benefits that the processing staff completed to confirm the member’s elections(i.e. pension, annuity & taxes) from the retirement application as well as utilize spreadsheets to test and confirm the benefit calculation. In addition, analysis is performed on, but is not limited to, the death process to confirm whether a benefit should continue for a survivor or be terminated and active member service to confirm either a member’s current service, purchase service or plan to plan transfer.

     

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience working with retirement benefits or within financial services
    • An ideal candidate would have strong analytical skills and experience in statistical reports
    • Basic Excel (intermediate preferred)
    • Good attention to detail and accuracy
    • Critical thinking skills/problem solving and decision making
    • Time management
