IM/FM/EM Physician needed to provide services 20-40 hours per week preferred during normal business hours, however weekend hours will be considered as well.


  • Performs routine and emergency medical care of inmates/patients referred for Chronic Care Clinic at the facility. For example: examines, diagnoses, and treats patients, monitors progress, inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases, or prescribes medications and prescribes or administers treatment for acute & chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery. 

  • Performs routine physical examinations of clients to determine Medical Condition. 

  • Evaluates inmates for referral consultations: Reviews recommendations of the specially consultants, approving or disapproving their recommendations. 

  • Consults with medical specialists providing treatment within and outside of the institution: Reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray and other diagnostic testing; Completes medical reclassification and other reviews as indicated. 

  • Writes medical evaluations & reports admission, discharge & death summaries; interprets & analyses laboratory reports & finding & writes summary. 

  • Documents all assessments, findings, & diagnostic impressions according to Scope of Practice, ODRC Policies, Procedures, Protocols and related ACA Standards, Reviews and ensures appropriateness of emergency transfers to outside hospitals.


  • Attends and conducts staff meetings and/or case conferences; represents division/agency at national, state and local meeting and conferences; acts a a liaison with center for disease control; testifies at federal and state legislative hearing, addresses public, special interest groups and/or medial on issues related to assigned area.  

  • Writes medical evaluations and reports

  • Completes and/or oversees completion of admission, discharge and death summaries; interprets and analyzes laboratory reports and findings, writes summary & maintains written account of patient progress; directs preparation of technical information materials & continuing education seminars; maintains clinical competency; provides programmatic information to advocacy groups; participates as member of administrative staff in development of overall goals, objectives, standards, policies & guidelines for assigned programs.



  • Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
